Specialist Areas:
Jacqui is a senior associate solicitor in the Private Client department. She undertakes a varied workload which includes inheritance tax planning, Court of Protection work including statutory Wills and contested applications, disputed probates and Inheritance Act claims. Jacqui also deals with setting up, advising on and winding up trusts.
Career History:
Jacqui started her career in 1995 as a trainee at Pepperell Machin & Co in Scunthorpe and qualified in 1997. More recently she became a partner at Grange Wintringham in Grimsby before joining Bridge McFarland in December 2008.
Jacqui has undertaken several landmark cases including being involved as part of a team dealing with a £2m estate and a £8m estate. She has also disputed Will cases including claims by spouses, children and claims for lack of capacity and lack of knowledge and approval. Jacqui has also dealt with cases involving disputed parentage requiring DNA testing and cases of assumed death where no body was recovered.
Jacqui is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the Law Society Probate Section and of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS).
Personal:
Jacqui is chair of the North Lincolnshire Area Board Council of the Hull & Humber Chamber of Commerce and was a past president of the North Lincolnshire Junior Chamber. She is married with 3 children and grew up in Hong Kong before returning to the UK for university.
