Specialist Areas:
Kathryn specialises in Personal Injury Law. She has developed a significant Claimant personal injury practice with a particular expertise in acting for injured seafarers. She has been involved in many cases dealing with jurisdictional issues, and also handles fatal accidents and claims for injured children.
Kathryn has a wealth of experience in acting for brain injury survivors (Headway Personal Injury Solicitors List 2009) and victims of accidents who are left with spinal injuries.
She has a special interest in representing victims of accidents resulting in amputations and has vast experience of the complex issues and needs arising out of those claims. Kathryn handles high value road traffic accident cases, including those with injuries sustained in motorcycle accidents.
She is also able to advise on state benefits available and has successfully represented many injured Claimants on appeals relating to the award of benefits.
Career History:
Kathryn studied on a part time basis whilst working at Bridge McFarland as a junior member of staff. She trained with John Bridge, the founding partner of the firm. She was admitted as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in 2001 before studying further heads of law, achieving Distinctions in Civil Litigation, European Law and Public Law.
Kathryn then went on to study the Legal Practice Course at De Montfort University in Leicester, graduating with a Distinction.
Kathryn was admitted as a Solicitor in 2005 and became a Partner in Bridge McFarland in 2006. She is now Head of the Personal Injury Department at the Grimsby office. She is Honorary Solicitor to the Humber Seafarers' Service since 2008 and Treasurer to Headway Grimsby since 2008.
