Simon Oates

Specialist Areas:

 Instigation and progression of business initiatives including key account management.


Career History:


Simon started his career in personal injury law in 1991 handling claims as a defendant practitioner. In 2001 he joined Bridge McFarland and became part of the Accident Team handling claims on behalf of claimants. That same year he was tasked with setting up a Claims Department handling volume litigation from the Lincoln office. The experience gained was instrumental in providing the basis for the creation of a new case management package for the entire firm designed specifically to accelerate individual claims to conclusion whilst ensuring no compromise of the standard of service Bridge McFarland has become recognised for.


In 2005 Simon was appointed Business Development Manager and has introduced initiatives and new business to all sectors of the firm. In 2007 he developed Co-op Law with a regional co-operative group leading to the firm being shortlisted in the National Business Awards for 'Most Enterprising Law Firm of the Year'.


In 2008 he formed asbestoseast as a support group for asbestos sufferers and is working closely with Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce & Industry to form the 'Lincolnshire Chamber for Rural Business'.

Personal:

Simon is married to Victoria with two children and enjoys skiing, walking, country pursuits and watching his son play rugby.
